The capture of criminal insects handbook

Pitfall trapping: Suspects may be captured using an approved pitfall trap if the trapping will allow the Field Operative to arrest a suspected criminal, will result in the prevention of a crime or crimes, or will allow the investigating Field Operative to interview the captured insect about the details of a specific case. Such trapping may also be used to detain any other insect wanted in connection with a crime provided it can be proved that they have links to the wanted criminal, or they are detained to obtain evidence vital to the outcome of the case under investigation, or they are being detained specifically to save the life of another insect or human being. In the event of this technique being used, only an approved Pitfall trap (using the plans below) is to be used and must be checked regularly (at least once every day) to ensure no innocent insects have been caught.
